COVID-19 Update

Tipton Veterinary Clients and Friends,

Tipton Veterinary Services is currently considered an essential health care
facility. We will remain open and operating until further notice from our
government officials. However, in order to help stop the spread of the
Coronavirus, we are going to limit our human to human contact.

Based on recommendations from the CDC, the Iowa Veterinary Medical
Association, and the Veterinary Medical Board, we have decided to implement
the following protocol changes until further notice.

What clients should do when they arrive at the hospital with patients:

Call TVS at 563-886-6312 from your cell phone- if you do not have a cell
phone please inform the staff prior to arrival.

Please remain in your vehicle with your animal.

A care professional will discuss your needs by phone when you arrive and
describe the next steps.

At the end of the phone conversation, a care professional will come to
the parking lot to bring your pet (animal) into the building for evaluation.

After the medical team evaluates your animal, you will receive a phone
call to discuss recommendations and a plan moving forward. Verbal consent
for treatment and details surrounding financial estimates will be
authorized via this phone call.

Payment will be collected preferably over the phone by credit card. You
may also write a check. Please advise the staff and they will arrange to
collect your payment appropriately.

Once the care of your animal is complete, the discharge process will be
discussed and your pet will be brought back out to your car.

We will only be performing time sensitive surgeries in an effort to
conserve medical resources.

Please try to prepare for any length of home stay by making sure that
you have refilled your pets medication and food.

Iowa Veterinary Med. Association is recommending a max of 3 months
worth of supply.

The Coronavirus COVID-19 is NOT known to be transmissible from your pet
or by your pet. Please use good hygiene when around your animal and
continue to love them like we know you do.

We ask that you let us know if anyone in your home is experiencing cold
and flu like symptoms and we can discuss the urgency of your pet’s
condition and alternative treatment arrangements. This is requested for the
safety of our team and desire to be able to continue to serve animal health
needs.
