  • Dr.
    Mike O’Donnell
    Veterinarian

    Purchased Tipton Veterinary Services in 1991. He grew up on a livestock and grain farm in Ottawa, Illinois. He is a 1985 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He and his wife Sue have 3 children, 4 grandchildren and live with their dog, Bert, and their cats Ghost and Karen. Dr. O’Donnell enjoys hunting, hiking, traveling to see the kids, an occasional round of golf, and all aspects of veterinary medicine.

    Alana McNutt
    Veterinarian & Owner

    joined Tipton Veterinary Services in July of 2016, and is a Tipton native. She is a 2011 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to returning home she practiced in Kalona, Iowa specializing in large animal medicine. Then she joined the Carthage Veterinary team where she worked in mixed animal practice. Dr. McNutt is daughter of local horse veterinarian, Dr. Jim McNutt.  Dr. McNutt’s specialty interests include bovine reproduction, small ruminants, and of course horses. She and her husband Dr. John Prickett, have two small girls, Maida (2016) and Della (2018) along with two dogs and two cats, and a small collection of sheep, goats, and horses.  Dr. John and Alana bought Tipton Veterinary Services in 2018 from Dr. O’ Donnell.  They also bought New Liberty Veterinary Clinic from Dr. Tucker in 2020.

    John Prickett
    Veterinarian and Owner

    joined Tipton Veterinary Services in 2018 when he and his wife Dr. Alana McNutt purchased the business.  Dr. Prickett’s parents were both large animal/horse veterinarians in Iowa until they retired.  Dr. Prickett graduated from Iowa State in 2010 with a Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology specializing in swine diseases.  He graduated in 2014 from  Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and worked as a swine vet for four years in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri.  Dr. Prickett enjoys business management, and his specialty interests are swine and small animal medicine.  He enjoys “hobby” farming and land maintenance as well as outdoor activities with his family.  Dr. Prickett and family reside at the end of the dead end road where Dr. McNutt grew up.

    Scout Josey
    Veterinarian

    joined Tipton Veterinary Services as an associate in June 2020. North Georgia native, she graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. Throughout her college years, she completed a number of internships all over the Midwest from Oklahoma to North Dakota focusing mainly on bovine medicine. She is primarily passionate about population health and production medicine. In her spare time she enjoys traveling to visit family and friends, hiking, and hunting. She is accompanied every day to the clinic by her cat, Todd.

    Office Manager

    joined Tipton Veterinary Services in October 2010 as a veterinary assistant. She grew up in the Quad Cities. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a degree in Horse Science Technology. Katie’s greatest joys are her son Everett (2017) and husband Reed, they have two cats and a german shepard. As a family they enjoy being outdoors from fishing to hiking

  • Tori Fritz
    Office Administrator

     Joined Tipton Veterinary Services in August 2018. She was raised in Lisbon, IA and moved to Tipton with her husband Dustin. She graduated from the Vet Tech Program at Kirkwood Community College in 2012,  but decided at the time it wasn’t for her and had chosen another career path.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her dog Luna, her two cats Keiko and Kevyn and riding horses out at her aunt's ranch Cedar Valley Stables, being outdoors and being with family and friends.

  • Kelsie Dugan
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Joined Tipton Veterinary Services in May 2018. She was raised in Moscow, Ia. She graduated from Muscatine Community College and passed her technician state and national board exams in 2014. In her spare time she enjoys hunting and playing slowpitch. She also loves to play ball with her Blue Heeler, Taylor.

  • Nicole Hamilton
    Veterinary Assistant

    joined Tipton Veterinary Services in October of 2017. She was born and raised in Tipton and is married to Justin. They have two children, Saidee and Jax who help take care of her funny farm consisting of goats, chickens, cattle, a horse, and two Great Danes.

  • Jaisey Yerington
    Veterinary Assistant

    Jaisey joined TVS in February of 2020. She grew up in Muscatine and graduated high school in 2018.  Jaisey likes to spend time outdoors in her free time riding horses and jet skis.  She has a dog named Zeus who goes everywhere with her.

  • Mariah Behrens
    Veterinary Assistant

    Mariah interned at TVS in high school and became a full time employee in 2020.  She enjoys working with all animals large and small.   Mariah grew up on a small farm outside of Lowden.  Mariah enjoys raising animals such as chickens, ducks, rabbits and goats.  She is currently studying at Muscatine Community College on her way to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. 

  • Rachel Hinderaker
    Veterinary Assistant

    Joined TVS in August of 2018. She grew up in Radcliffe, IA along with her husband Clint. Went to school for dental assisting graduating from Kirkwood Comm. College. Then was a stay at home mom for 13 years. She Lives on a farm south of town with her husband and 3 daughters Rebecca, Hadley and Tenley.  Sheep, cattle, horses, a mini donkey chickens, cats, and 3 dogs also keep the kids busy along with their sports.  She enjoys her farm, traveling, baking, running, riding horses, and spending time with family.

  • Ruth Henderson
    Veterinary Assistant

    Ruth joined TVS in the Nov of 2020.  She grew up on the family farm in Muscatine County and participated in 4H and FFA. She attended Muscatine Community College and transferred to Iowa State University and graduated in 1993 with a bachelor degree in Animal Science. She and her husband Mick live in Durant with their 19 year old son, Drew who is a freshman at Saint Ambrose University fulfilling his prerequisites hoping to transfer to Palmer College of Chiropractic.  They have a 4 year old Australian Shepherd named Charlie.

  • Emily Willkomm
    Veterinary Assistant

    Emily joined the New Liberty staff in September of 2013. She grew up on the family farm she and husband Christopher currently live on outside of New Liberty.  She and Christopher have 2 children, Madison is a junior at ISU and Jake is a freshman at Loras College. She has 3 dogs - Leo, Gunner, and Roxy.  She enjoys managing her small 30 head cow/calf operation, and spending time with family.
